Chester's Eastgate Clock

Chester Music Society is based in the City of Chester in the North West of England and has been engaged in the promotion and performance of live classical music in Chester since 1946.

The Society comprises three sections: Celebrity Concerts; Showcase Concerts and Choir. We present more than 20 concerts and musical events in Chester each year. Our concert season begins in October and continues through May.

Graham Jordan Ellis

Graham has held the position of Director of Music to the Chester Music Society Choir since 1996.

Graham Eccles first studied the organ at Worksop College in Nottinghamshire; during this time he gained his LTCL and ARCO diplomas.

Choir on Tour

Chester Music Society Choir is an auditioned choir of 150 members giving performances of major choral classics in Chester Cathedral.

Stringed Instruments

The Celebrity Concerts section promotes six concerts each year. The concerts are mainly, but not always, of chamber music and during each season a variety of instrumental and voice groupings are offered, by both established and rising professional musicians. An opportunity to hear current and future stars.

Piano and Score

Showcase promotes a wide variety of music covering a broad range of music styles and ensembles in a relaxed and informal setting. The concerts feature outstanding young musicians from the Chester area as well as more established local artists.
