Come and Sing Favourite English Sacred Choral Works with Chester Music Society

The Come and Sing event promises a warm welcome with an inspiring repertoire whether you are a seasoned singer or simply keen to enjoy a day of music and camaradarie.
Music will include choruses from Handel’s Messiah and pieces from Byrd, Stainer and others. There will be an informal performance at the end for friends and family to enjoy. The Chorus Master for the day will be Graham Jordan Ellis (Chester Music Society’s Director of Music) and the piano accompanist will be Graham Eccles.
Doors in St Mary’s Creative Space, Chester CH1 2DW will open at 9.30 am for registration and collection of scores (provided for the day free of charge). Singing will start at 10.00 am.
Light refreshments will be available during breaks. Please bring your own lunch or enjoy one of the many local cafes or restuarants in Chester.
Chamber Music Workshop

We’re holding a hands-on Chamber Music Workshop for String Players designed to help you improve your technique and boost your confidence. Whether you play violin, viola, cello, or bass, this is your chance to sharpen your skills in a relaxed, supportive, and inspiring environment.
Expect practical tips you can use right away; ensemble playing and collaboration; technique tune-ups; loads of encouragement and musical energy.
You can come along on your own or with a group to play manageable music chosen from the wonderful chamber repertoire. Tutors will be available to help improvement and enjoyment.
