Thinking of joining?
New members in all voice parts are always welcome to join us. We will invite you to attend a couple of rehearsals to get a feel for the choir prior to a voice test. Rehearsals are held in Chester on Thursday evenings at 7.30 – 9.30 pm. You will need some sight reading ability, a love of singing and a commitment to attend rehearsals and concerts. You’ll also need to do some ‘homework’ to make sure you learn your part thoroughly. Voice tests take place twice a year in September (the start of the season) and January. Our Director of Music will guide you through a relaxed, friendly and a stress free as possible process, including:
- Singing a short, simple piece of your choice (please bring two copies)
- A few vocal exercises to determine your range and voice part.
- A bit of straightforward sight-singing.
There is an annual membership subscription of £215 which includes the annual Society membership fee. There is a 50% discount for full-time students.
