 Charlotte & Bethan met on the North Wales Youth Orchestra Course in 2010. They began playing as a duo together in 2011 when they were invited to perform at the ‘Welsh Learner of the Year’ awards evening as part of the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.  This has led to many further collaborations such as performances of Mozart’s Flute & Harp Concerto with Wrexham Youth Orchestra in 2013, in 2015 with the Cambrian Orchestra and again with The Midland Sinfonia in 2018.
They were awarded first prize with outstanding marks at Chester Festival of Performing Arts for their performance in the instrumental duo class in 2014 and subsequently were awarded performances as part of Chester Music Society recital series.  They have also given recitals for Chester Wesley Centre’s Lunchtime Series and the ‘Wednesday’s at One’ concert series as well as performing at Llangollen Eisteddfod’s Penddol Stage and the Black Park Music Festival. The Hefin Duo are passionate about music education and have recently enjoyed giving workshops for Chester Music Society including at Dorin Park special school. Charlotte graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Master of Music degree and Bethan graduated from the Royal College of Music with Master of Performance degree however they continue to perform together at many events and concerts across Wales and the North West.
