The Vale Royal Singers,

Margaret Corlett, conductor
The Vale Royal Singers were formed in 1978. They are a versatile group of around 20 mixed voices from all over Cheshire who share an interest in making high quality music together and perform in many different settings; churches, concert halls, and, most recently in gardens and parks! They enjoy the challenge of singing sacred and secular music in a variety of styles from 16th century madrigals to 20th century popular music; via choral classics – Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, Fauré, Vaughan Williams – to the drama of Gilbert and Sullivan and the fresh simplicity of Britten, Chilcott and Rutter. They are especially pleased to have helped raise funds for many worthy causes and charities.
Margaret Corlett – Musical Director – graduated from London University with joint Honours in Music and German. She has worked in Austria, Leeds and Holland as a freelance pianist and accompanist, as well as choral directing. She works as an accompanist, teacher and choral director in the Chester area, also conducting the Kelsborrow Choir.
Brian Heald – Accompanist – read chemical engineering at Pembroke College, Cambridge and spent a 35 year career in the chemical industry. He holds performance diplomas in piano and organ and has been organist at Wesley, Chester since 1976. He performs regularly on both piano and organ, in duos and in chamber music groups.
